Empowering volunteers to respond and rebuild during crises

The Texas County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is the foundational division of the Texas County Emergency Response Team (TCERT). CERT volunteers are trained to support the community before, during, and after disasters by providing rapid deployment to disasters within our region. Texas County CERT volunteers become a reliable force multiplier that enhances overall community resilience across Texas County and surrounding region. Our volunteers train monthly and provide professional level response when the community is in need.

The Texas County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) is the medical and public health division of TCERT. MRC volunteers are licensed and trained medical professionals—including nurses, physicians, EMTs, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers—who support the county during public health emergencies, mass casualty incidents, point-of-dispensing (POD) operations, and shelter medical care. In our rural community, the MRC plays a vital role in responding to medical surges, assisting with disaster medical needs, and delivering community health services when local resources are stretched.

The Texas County Rescue Division is the emergency medical and technical response arm of TCERT. This division deploys trained volunteers to provide rapid medical first response, wilderness search and rescue, technical rescue, and other forms of rescue as we grow. Rescue volunteers respond to lost or missing persons, human remains recovery, medical emergencies and other emergencies as needed. The division works closely with local law enforcement, fire departments, and EMS to deliver life-saving assistance when every minute counts.

The Behavioral Health Crisis Response Team (BHCRT) is the mental health and psychological support division of TCERT. BHCRT volunteers are trained to provide psychological first aid, critical incident stress management (CISM), and emotional peer support to disaster survivors, first responders, and community members affected by emergencies, floods, searches, or traumatic events. In rural Texas County, the BHCRT helps individuals cope with crisis-related stress, anxiety, grief, and trauma, while also supporting the overall mental well-being of TCERT volunteers during and after deployments.

The Texas County Emergency Response Team is now proudly partnered with the Department of Defense through its Educational Licensure of the Stop The Bleed program through the DoD.
Texas County Emergency Response Team is dedicated to enhancing community resilience through volunteerism. We train and equip individuals to respond effectively during emergencies and disasters in our community.
